Les Muses Florales
There are moments in life that root themselves so deeply within us that they quietly shape who we become. For me, that place begins in the fields of England—running barefoot through wildflowers, wheat, and tall stretches of corn, where the air felt endless and freedom was something I could touch. Those memories live within me still, and they find their way onto every canvas in Les Muses Florales.
This collection is not just about flowers—it is about remembrance. It is about returning to a version of self that existed before expectation, before doubt, before the need to be anything other than fully alive. The florals in my work are layered, textured, and often abundant, echoing the wildness of those early landscapes. They are not arranged for perfection—they grow, they spill, they exist unapologetically.
The process itself is slow and intentional. Each wildflower is applied one by one, creating a composition that can never be exactly replicated. Even within repeated forms, every piece becomes its own living expression—unique in placement, rhythm, and energy. This ritual mirrors nature itself: no two blooms are ever the same, and neither are we.
Flowers, to me, hold a quiet duality. They are delicate, fleeting, and easily overlooked—yet they persist, returning season after season. In that way, they mirror the human spirit. There is fragility in being seen, in feeling deeply, in allowing softness to exist in a world that often demands hardness. But within that fragility, there is also profound strength.
In Les Muses Florales, my figures are often adorned or surrounded by blooms—crowns, garments, eruptions of color that extend beyond the body. These florals are not decorative; they are extensions of identity. They represent growth, memory, resilience, and the courage to exist fully. Each petal becomes a quiet declaration: softness is not weakness—it is power in its most honest form.
This work is deeply tied to the DollyRose ethos—finding strength within vulnerability, claiming space without apology, and embracing the fullness of being seen. The muses within this collection are grounded yet expansive. They carry both grace and grit. They bloom not in spite of their experiences, but because of them.
Les Muses Florales is an invitation—to remember, to feel, and to return to yourself. To honor the parts of you that are tender and wild at the same time. To recognize that like the fields that raised me, you, too, are allowed to grow freely, abundantly, and without restraint.
